Duties
- Carefully pack household belongings using appropriate materials to prevent damage during transit
- Load and unload items onto trucks using manual lifting techniques, pallet jacks, or forklifts when necessary
- Safely operate box trucks and other commercial vehicles for route driving and delivery purposes
- Assist with the transportation of items by driving trucks with manual transmissions and adhering to route schedules
- Ensure proper securing of loads to prevent shifting or damage during transit
- Provide exceptional customer service by communicating clearly with clients and addressing their moving needs
- Assist in the setup and organization of items at the new location, ensuring all belongings are handled with care
- Maintain cleanliness and safety standards in the warehouse and moving areas, including proper use of equipment like forklifts and pallet jacks
Experience
- Prior experience in moving, packing, or warehouse environments preferred
- Valid driver’s license with experience operating box trucks or similar commercial vehicles
- Delivery driver experience or courier background is a plus
- Familiarity with heavy lifting techniques and safety procedures for manual handling of household items
- Experience using forklifts, pallet jacks, or other material handling equipment is desirable
- Knowledge of route driving and load & unload procedures to ensure timely deliveries and pickups
- Customer service skills that foster positive interactions with clients during stressful moving situations
