Maintenance Technician – 1st Shift

We are looking for a dependable, hands-on Maintenance Technician to help keep our facilities, equipment, and mechanical systems operating safely and efficiently. The Maintenance Technician will perform preventive maintenance, repairs, troubleshooting, facility upkeep, and equipment maintenance. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, safety-minded, organized, and able to work independently while also supporting the maintenance team.

Schedule

Monday – Friday | 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM

What You'll DoEquipment & Preventive Maintenance

• Perform routine and preventative maintenance on building systems, equipment, and machinery.
• Inspect belts, fluid levels, filters, bearings, seals, and other components; replace or repair parts as needed.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical equipment and systems.
• Calibrate and repair pneumatic systems.
• Complete daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance checklists and accurately maintain maintenance records.
• Monitor mechanical equipment and utility systems using computer-based controls when applicable.
• Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests.

Electrical & Building Systems

• Install, troubleshoot, repair, and replace electrical wiring and equipment as needed.
• Assist with electrical work associated with remodeling and renovation projects.
• Troubleshoot electrical equipment, control circuits, switches, locks, and control panels.
• Install and maintain computer/data cabling when needed.
• Perform general building repairs, including doors, door locks, windows, window blinds, drywall, plaster, and painting.
• Assist with facility renovations, remodeling, and improvement projects.

Facility & Grounds Maintenance

• Perform general maintenance and upkeep of buildings and facilities.
• Complete outside maintenance duties, including snow removal and other seasonal responsibilities as needed.
• Obtain estimates for maintenance supplies and repair parts and assist with ordering parts and materials.
• Maintain accurate records of completed maintenance and scheduled preventive maintenance.

Teamwork & Safety

• Work closely with management and other employees to identify and resolve maintenance issues.
• Follow all applicable safety procedures when working with electrical systems, machinery, tools, chemicals, and other workplace hazards.
• Perform other duties and maintenance-related projects as assigned by management.

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year of experience in building, facility, mechanical, or equipment maintenance and repair, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong working knowledge of hand and power tools.
• Mechanical aptitude and a natural ability to troubleshoot and solve problems.
• Ability to read and understand basic drawings, schematics, instructions, correspondence, and maintenance documentation.
• Basic math skills, including whole numbers, fractions, decimals, percentages, rates, and ratios.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and make sound decisions.
• Reliable, proactive, and willing to take initiative.
• Ability to work safely in an active maintenance environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with electrical systems, pneumatic systems, mechanical equipment, or building automation.
• Experience in commercial, industrial, or manufacturing.
• Experience with preventive maintenance programs and computerized maintenance systems.
• Relevant technical certifications, licenses, or vocational training.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

This is an active, hands-on position. The Maintenance Technician will regularly stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, climb, and work in various positions throughout the day.

• Ability to frequently lift and/or move items weighing 50 pounds.
• Ability to work around moving mechanical equipment and machinery.
• May occasionally work at heights and in wet or humid conditions.
• May be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, chemicals, outdoor weather conditions, vibration, electrical hazards, and varying noise levels.
• Appropriate safety procedures and personal protective equipment must be used when required.
