What You’ll Do
Month-End Close & Financial Accuracy
- Own assigned components of the month-end close process
- Review journal entries and supporting documentation for accuracy
- Identify and resolve discrepancies impacting financial reporting
- Maintain and improve month-end close processes and checklists
General Ledger & Daily Accounting
- Review transactional activity and general ledger entries
- Support daily bank reconciliations
- Provide guidance on GAAP, chart of accounts, and accounting structure
- Manage accounting activities across entities, including subsidiaries and non-profit entities
Reconciliations & Analysis
- Own and expand balance sheet reconciliations
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies, identifying root causes
- Ensure reconciliations are audit-ready and well-documented
- Develop schedules for complex items such as prepaid expenses and payroll variances
Reporting & Business Support
- Generate and review financial reports and supporting schedules
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and insurance processes
- Provide ad hoc financial analysis to leadership
- Partner with operational teams to provide financial insights
Process Improvement & Documentation
- Document accounting processes and workflows
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and standardization
- Support implementation of best practices and ERP system enhancements
Audit & Project Support
- Support annual audit processes and external financial reviews
- Prepare schedules and documentation for audits
- Participate in ERP implementation and finance-related initiatives
What We’re Looking For
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
Experience
- 5 years of hands-on accounting experience required
- Experience with full-cycle accounting and month-end close
- Experience with inventory accounting preferred
- Experience supporting audits and financial reviews preferred
- Experience in manufacturing or project-based environments preferred
Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of GAAP principles (accruals, debits/credits, reconciliations)
- Experience reviewing journal entries and financial transactions
- Strong balance sheet reconciliation experience
- Proficiency with ERP/accounting systems
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
