Who We’re Looking For:

The Manager is a key member of ACORE’s Policy & Engagement team, responsible for research, analysis, and logistical coordination across ACORE’s policy initiatives to accelerate U.S. clean energy expansion. Reporting to the Vice President of Government Affairs, the Manager will track and analyze congressional and executive branch actions, draft written materials, engage with ACORE members, and strengthen stakeholder coalitions.

The ideal candidate thrives in fast-moving environments, brings a strong understanding of the clean energy landscape, and has exposure to energy tax policy, federal appropriations, and/or permitting issues.

Key Job Duties:

Policy Research & Development

  • Support the development and execution of ACORE’s policy objectives, with a focus on tax policy and permitting through data-driven policy research and analysis.
  • Monitor Congressional and agency activity and provide timely, actionable updates to ACORE colleagues and membership.
  • Support internal team members and external stakeholders to provide timely, strategic support on legislative drafting, policy development, and regulatory comment preparation
  • Support and, as directed, lead the production of high-quality written materials, including issue briefs, comment letters, talking points, opinion columns, fact sheets, presentations, public statements, and briefings

Stakeholder Engagement & Coordination

  • Support engagement with ACORE members through the development of materials for Advisory Council and other meetings
  • Support Congressional and policymaker meetings, including logistics, scheduling, and preparation of briefing materials
  • Build and maintain policymaker databases and contact lists for effective stakeholder engagement
  • Support coalition building with ACORE members, governmental organizations, NGOs and other stakeholders

Project & Team Support

  • Provide administrative and logistical support for member Advisory Council meetings, calls and activities
  • Collaborate with peers across ACORE to help organize and execute policy-related events, webinars and briefings through logistical support and coordination
  • Manage day-to-day program/project implementation by supporting meetings, tracking follow-up items, and executing on deliverables
  • Execute other tasks as assigned.

The Must Haves:

  • Knowledge of federal policies that affect clean energy development and deployment, such as permitting; federal tax, budget, and appropriations; trade and supply chains; clean energy technology issues, and/or others
  • Knowledge of congressional and regulatory processes
  • Excellent research, writing skills, and communication skills with demonstrated ability to develop compelling written reports and briefs
  • Highly organized and strong attention to detail
  • Fluency and comfort with applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint
  • Experience working with diverse stakeholders
  • Collaborative and collegial work style

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferably relating to energy and environmental issues, economics, or government and public policy
  • A minimum of three years of professional experience working on clean energy policy issues
