The American Correctional Association’s Office of Correctional Health (OCH) is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented professional to serve as a Correctional Health Coordinator. This role provides operational, administrative, and programmatic support for national correctional health initiatives, certification activities, and educational programs.
The ideal candidate will be a collaborative problem-solver with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities while supporting initiatives that improve correctional healthcare nationwide.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain certification records, accreditation documentation, compliance tracking, and related databases
- Coordinate workshops, webinars, meetings, and national conference activities
- Support curriculum development and educational program review
- Monitor legislative, regulatory, and policy developments related to correctional health
- Assist in translating emerging issues into reports, guidance materials, and communications
- Collaborate with subject matter experts and internal teams
- Support technical assistance initiatives, grant tracking, and special projects
- Assist with implementation of AI-supported tools to improve operational efficiency
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in health administration, nursing, public health, health policy, or related field — OR Bachelor’s degree in a health-related field with at least five (5) years of relevant professional experience
- Minimum three (3) years of experience in healthcare, correctional health, policy, or related field
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to synthesize complex information and manage multiple projects
Preferred Qualifications
- Five (5) or more years of relevant experience
- Familiarity with correctional health systems, standards, or accreditation processes
- Experience with database management and program coordination
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and emerging AI tools (e.g., Copilot, ChatGPT)
Additional Information
- Full-time, Non-Exempt position
- Hybrid schedule with remote eligibility one day per week
- Travel required for ACA national conferences and initiatives
- Standard schedule Monday–Friday, with occasional evenings or weekends
- Reports to the Office of Correctional Health Director
