VP of ESG Research

American Corporation for Public Well Being
Only, TN Full Time
POSTED ON 9/3/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 10/2/2026
Operations Excellence Analyst Full-Time, Senior Individual Contributor

About The Role

The VP of ESG Research position within ACPWB's Operations Excellence group offers the opportunity to build genuine expertise in workforce pay disparity research within a firm that is recognized as a leading voice in the field. You will manage multiple concurrent workstreams, develop client-ready deliverables, and contribute to the internal knowledge base that makes ACPWB's research products distinctive. We have snacks.

The VP of ESG Research plays a central role in ACPWB's mission to advance workforce pay disparity research across American institutions. Sitting within the Operations Excellence practice, this position partners closely with senior leadership to shape the analytical frameworks and research outputs that our clients rely on to make consequential decisions. You will be one of 12 professionals in a high-functioning team that takes its mandate seriously and its benefits package even more seriously.

The VP of ESG Research will be responsible for the research and analytical work that powers some of ACPWB's most visible client engagements in the workforce pay disparity research space. We are a growing organization that does serious work — serious enough that we have patents — and this role is central to maintaining the analytical credibility that our clients and, frankly, our sales team depend on.

Key Responsibilities

  • ◆ Develop sector-specific workforce pay disparity research expertise for ACPWB's education practice
  • ◆ Develop and maintain a library of benchmark statistics, case studies, and templates for internal use
  • ◆ Facilitate post-engagement debriefs with clients to assess satisfaction and identify follow-on opportunities
  • ◆ Oversee production and quality assurance of equity compensation program design work across concurrent client engagements
  • ◆ Develop scalable analytical frameworks for equity compensation program design that can be applied consistently across education clients

Qualifications

Required

  • ◆ Experience working directly with senior client stakeholders in a professional services environment
  • ◆ 2 years of experience in a client-facing advisory role within the education sector or broader professional services
  • ◆ Demonstrated ability to synthesize large volumes of compensation data into actionable client guidance
  • ◆ Exceptional presentation skills and the ability to communicate complex findings to non-technical executives

Preferred

  • ◆ Familiarity with SEC Regulation S-K and human capital disclosure requirements
  • ◆ Experience with compensation committee charter review and governance documentation
  • ◆ Experience with total rewards communications and employee-facing content
  • ◆ Background in actuarial science or insurance with application to benefits program design

WHY ACPWB

The culture at ACPWB is best described as high standards, low bureaucracy, and snacks that are replenished on a consistent schedule. We measure performance by output and impact, not by hours or visibility. We have no culture of performative overwork, because we consider performative overwork a symptom of organizational dysfunction. We have published a report on this. The report is well-cited.

ACPWB was founded in Milwaukee in 2006 with a simple mandate: help working Americans understand and advocate for the compensation they deserve. Eighteen years later, that mandate has grown into a full-service research and advisory practice serving clients from early-stage employers to Fortune 50 enterprises — and we are still based in Milwaukee, because Milwaukee is genuinely underrated.

INTERVIEW PROCESS

Our hiring process is direct and transparent: one phone screen, one technical interview, one final panel. We aim to complete the process within three weeks of initial contact. We will tell you where you stand at each stage, because we believe that is the right thing to do.

What Success Looks Like In Year One

  • ◆ Deliver an internal presentation sharing key insights from your first major client engagement
  • ◆ Produce at least one deliverable that appears in a client's board materials or proxy statement
  • ◆ Become the team's internal reference point for at least one specific technical domain or methodology area
