What are the responsibilities and job description for the Crew Leader position at American Contracting & Environmental Services Incorporated?
POSITION PURPOSE
Crew Leaders may supervise up to 4 tradespeople or laborers in all aspects of work. Crew leaders are expected to perform the work in addition to supervising employees associated with the tasks assigned. The majority of their tasks require physical labor in an outdoor environment on a construction site.
Essential Job Functions |
Pipe Installation and Fabrication: Proficient in working with various pipe types such as PVC, copper, ductile iron, and steel, with skills in cutting and fitting pipes using appropriate tools. Capable of installing and securing pipes according to precise specifications and safety standards. |
Formwork and Concrete Carpentry: Skilled in constructing and assembling formwork for concrete structures such as slabs, pads and walls. Skilled in all other aspects of rough carpentry. |
Blueprint Reading and Interpretation: Competent in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings relevant to water/wastewater construction. |
Inventory and Tool Management: Capable of assessing current material inventory and tool availability, ensuring that all necessary resources are on hand for project tasks. Skilled in communicating material and tool needs effectively to the superintendent to avoid delays and ensure continuous workflow. |
Team Leadership and Communication: Strong leadership abilities to manage and motivate construction crews, coupled with effective communication skills for coordinating with team members, subcontractors, and stakeholders. |
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or GED preferred with three (3) years of construction experience and at least two (2) years specializing in a trade.
