Credit Analyst – ON SITE in Schaumburg, IL
American Commercial BankTrust is currently seeking analytical and detailed candidates for our Credit Analyst position, which is located in our Schaumburg, IL Office. The primary responsibility of the Credit Analyst is to gather and analyze financial data to assess a new or existing client's creditworthiness. Quantitative and analytical skills are key to producing accurate and detailed credit write-ups and presentations to the Loan Committee. The Credit Analyst must also be excellent communicators, good at reading people, able to research efficiently and note discrepancies, and be pivotal collaborators.
Key job duties and responsibilities include the following:
- Analyzes and spreads financial statements for new and potential clients in the LoanVantage system.
- Performs cash flow analysis, debt coverage calculations, risk modeling, collateral review, and other quantitative analysis to determine client's credit worthiness.
- Performs background research on client, industry and market trends, and economic forecasting to incorporate into the credit presentation to support analysis.
- Works closely with commercial lenders, commercial associates, and other credit administration staff to verify client and loan information.
- Stays abreast of internal lending and credit policies.
- Assists with internal and external audits and examinations, and client audits.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics, or business.
- Solid understanding of accounting, statistics, and economics.
- 2 years of previous credit experience desirable.
Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of commercial credit analysis, market trends and loan procedures.
- Attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Strong quantitative skills.
- Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines and time management capabilities.
