Job Description
American Cell Technology is seeking a detail-oriented GMP Cleaning Personnel to maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation in our GMP manufacturing and controlled areas for mesenchymal stem cell banking operations. The successful candidate will perform routine and specialized cleaning/sanitization activities in compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), current Good Tissue Practices (cGTP), FDA regulations (e.g., 21 CFR Parts 210, 211, 1271), and internal SOPs. This entry-to-mid-level role requires strong attention to detail, adherence to protocols, and the ability to work effectively in a cleanroom and fast-paced regulated environment to support product quality and patient safety. The job calls for work that doesn't begin until 5:30 or 6pm daily and usually lasts for 3-4 hours.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily, weekly, monthly, and as-needed cleaning and sanitization of GMP-controlled areas, including cleanrooms, production suites, laboratories, corridors, changing rooms, equipment surfaces, and support areas using approved agents and methods.
- Execute cleaning procedures for critical equipment, small parts, hoses, tools, and surfaces following validated SOPs to remove residues, microbes, and contaminants.
- Prepare, use, and handle cleaning/sanitization solutions (detergents, disinfectants, sporicides) according to established protocols, ensuring proper contact time.
- Complete accurate GMP documentation, including cleaning logs, records, checklists, and electronic entries in compliance with Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
- Conduct visual inspections and basic verification to confirm cleaning effectiveness and report any deviations or issues immediately.
- Maintain cleaning supplies, equipment, and storage areas in an organized and compliant state; restock materials and dispose of waste per SOPs and safety guidelines.
- Follow strict gowning, hygiene, and personnel flow procedures when entering and exiting controlled environments to prevent cross-contamination.
- Participate in training programs to maintain qualifications for GMP cleaning tasks and stay current on procedures, safety, and regulatory requirements.
- Report non-conformances, deviations, or potential contamination risks to supervisors and support investigations or corrective actions as needed.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, and quality assurance teams to ensure cleaning schedules align with production activities without compromising compliance.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree or coursework in life sciences, biotechnology, or a related field preferred.
- Experience: 1–3 years of experience in cleaning/sanitization in a GMP-regulated environment (pharmaceutical, biotechnology, cell therapy, or sterile manufacturing) preferred; relevant cleaning experience considered.
- Technical Skills: Ability to follow detailed SOPs precisely; familiarity with cleanroom operations, gowning procedures, and use of cleaning agents/equipment (mops, wipes, disinfectants, etc.).
- Skills: Exceptional attention to detail, strong observational skills, and commitment to quality and compliance; ability to work independently and in a team.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to perform repetitive tasks (standing, walking, lifting up to 30 lbs), work in controlled environments (including cleanrooms with gowning), and adhere to strict hygiene protocols.
- Certifications: GMP-related training and Qualifications will be provided by American Cell Technology.
- Other: Reliable, punctual, and able to work nigh and weekend shifts
