The American Board of Radiology (ABR) is an independent, not-for-profit organization and is one of 24 national medical specialty boards that make up the American Board of Medical Specialties. We were founded in 1934 to protect the public by assessing and certifying doctors who meet specific educational, training, and professional requirements.
The ABR is seeking a highly skilled, detail-oriented, and analytical Sr. Accountant to join its team. Do you have a passion for accrual accounting, uncovering discrepancies and solving problems? If so, this may be the perfect position for you. This position must be located in Tucson, Arizona and is a hybrid (three day in-office/two day remote) position.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain and reconcile fixed asset subledger; ensure proper capitalization, depreciation, and disposal.
- Analyze and explain monthly variances in balance sheet and income statement accounts.
- Perform credit card reconciliations, assisting AP in resolution of discrepancies.
- Prepare and reconcile prepaid expense schedules; ensure proper amortization of expenses over appropriate periods.
- Review payroll reports for accuracy, completeness, and alignment with budget expectations; collaborate with HR and payroll vendors as needed.
- Prepare and record monthly journal entries, including accruals for unpaid expenses and revenue recognition adjustments.
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities, including account reconciliations and supporting schedules.
- Identify process improvement opportunities and contribute to the ongoing enhancement of accounting procedures and internal controls.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- 6-8 years of accounting experience
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Experience with NetSuite or similar accounting/ERP software
