The ABIM (American Board of Internal Medicine) Innovation Team is a new, tight-knit group of bold thinkers, bringing start-up agility and creativity to a physician-led, nonprofit organization that has set the standards for medical certification for nearly a century. Reporting to the Senior Director, Innovation Strategy and Solutions, the Program Associate has the following primary responsibilities:

  • Program Coordination: Assist with planning, logistics, and coordination for departmental projects, pilots, and meetings, including scheduling, materials preparation, and follow-up communications.
  • Data & Documentation Support: Maintain organized digital project documentation, meeting notes, dashboards, and performance tracking systems to ensure visibility across the innovation portfolio.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Support communication and coordination between Emerging Technologies, external partners, and internal ABIM departments (e.g., Assessment and Research, Information Technology, Communications, and Strategic Alliances).
  • Innovation Reporting: Contribute to developing reports, summaries, and visual presentations that communicate project progress, key learnings, and outcomes to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Administrative & Departmental Support: Provide operational support for procurement, onboarding new team members, budget documentation, and departmental knowledge management.
  • Grant and Partnership Support: Assist in tracking innovation grant opportunities, documenting outcomes, and coordinating external collaboration logistics.

Requirements for this role include a bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Health, Business, Education or a related field. A minimum of 3 years’ experience in administrative, project coordination, or program support experience in a professional environment.

The successful incumbent will have excellent communication, organizational, and planning skills, and must be able to both integrate and apply rapidly evolving information to ongoing work.
