Job Summary:
As assigned, attends to all types of in-operation production equipment. Works with tools, presses, grinders, cutting equipment, microscopes, furnaces, kilns, mills, resin tanks, screens and other miscellaneous equipment to produce quality product. Works with hand tools and inspection devices. Receives supervision from Department Supervisor and works as directed.
Primary Functions:
Attends to all types of miscellaneous operating production equipment by loading and unloading kilns, furnaces, presses, microscopes, centerless grinders, resin tanks, etc. and makes minor adjustments to kilns and furnaces, equipment speeds, as directed, to produce green and finished ware.
Uses various types of inspection devices such as balance scales, micrometers, comparators, and pin gauges, as required, to inspect green ware in process, fired ware and to make final inspections. Dye checks product and inspects customer rejects and incoming components to be used in production.
Loads and unloads furnaces, kilns as required. Performs work manually or uses tweezers or other hand instruments to assist.
Performs other miscellaneous duties as assigned such as operating record keeping, cleaning finished product for shipment.
Maintains assigned work areas in clean and orderly condition. Works in safe manner and observes all safety rules and practices.
Notifies department Supervisor of any unusual situations requiring their attention.
Works as directed by Supervisors and receives supervision and areas of assignment from Department Supervisor.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Prior experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment is a plus but not required
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a clean and safe work environment
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Ability to follow safety guidelines diligently and report hazards promptly
