Job Summary

The Manager, Facilities & Maintenance is responsible for Facilities & Maintenance at the Springboro facility. The Manager, Facilities and Maintenance ensures continuous operation of the facility by effective and efficient oversight of personnel and equipment. The daily duties of the Manager, Facilities & Maintenance, entails managing all aspects of the maintenance staff, physical property as well as the security of employees.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain manufacturing and assembly equipment.
  • Manage new equipment startups and new equipment installations.
  • Manage the preventive and predictive maintenance program and ensure compliance with all relative documentation.
  • Manage the execution of all Facility and Maintenance related projects.
  • Manage all housekeeping duties at both facilities.
  • Manage the set-up, maintenance, and the operation of the machine shop equipment.
  • Manage service providers and outside contractors performing facility functions and/or tasks.
  • Manage tooling changeovers.
  • Manage and maintain corporate vehicles and / or all corporate fleet vehicles.
  • Manage the Plex system as the key user for and Facility and Maintenance work orders module.
  • Manage the Plex system as key user for MRO management and maintaining critical spare parts list.
  • Lead and facilitate contractor safety expectations and training.
  • Assist EHS with the LOTO program to establish effective safety controls.
  • Manage the use, verify, and support LOTO procedure including all applicable de-energization methods.
  • Assist engineering and operations with equipment to determine hazards, recommend proper controls and implement corrections.
  • Assist with safety incident investigations to ensure root causes are identified and corrective actions are implemented.
  • Provide effective and appropriate assistance to the leadership team and safety committees.
  • Travel to various locations as needed. Overnight travel will be required at times.
  • Work in partnership with leadership teams to ensure all safety control measures and regulations are included in capital projects.
  • Ensure time and attendance for hourly associates is completed on a daily / weekly basis.
  • Carry out inspections of the facilities to identify and resolve issues.
  • Minimize unscheduled down time.
  • Basic methods and practices used in the maintenance, repair and operations of business and commercial buildings and properties, including large scale meeting room spaces.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment.
  • Support the production teams.
  • Adhere to all company policies, processes, and procedures.
  • Adhere to federal and state regulations.
  • Performs other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.
  • Predictable and reliable attendance.

Position Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in technical field, Journeyman status or equivalent.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in maintenance supervision or related field.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a manufacturing environment and facility management.
  • Knowledge of OSHA and other regulations.
  • Knowledge of general maintenance methods, operating requirements, and safety precautions related to facilities management.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints.
  • Knowledge of quality management systems.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local safety, environmental, and facility regulations.
  • Experience with an ERP system.
  • Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint is required.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to perform classroom and on-the-job training for Facilities and Technical Services topics.

  • May work in a variety of weather including extreme heat and cold.
  • Able to work in confined spaces.
  • Must be able to bend, lift, stretch, stoop, push, pull, stand, and carry as needed to inspect, service, and operate machinery, equipment, and gauges.
  • Must work rotating shift schedule; may need to work overtime in emergencies.
  • Must be able to maintain attention for long periods of time.
  • Prolonged periods working on feet, using tools, and performing repetitive actions that entail frequent bending and stooping.
  • Must be able to lift to 50 pounds at a time.
  • Must be able to physically operate heavy equipment.
  • The noise level in the work environment can be moderately loud.
  • The ability to see and respond to dangerous situations.
  • The ability to wear personal protective gear correctly most of the day.
