PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES: (90%)
- Develop knowledge of Bank products, policies and procedures, and underwriting requirements
- Inform prospective and existing customers of AB&T mortgage programs, rates, policies, underwriting requirements, and loan procedures
- Analyze detailed financial and credit data, matching customer needs with an appropriate loan program and level of risk
- Run GUS, DU, or other AUS systems
- Receive customer applications, quote the rate and points, Issue LE & Disclosures and complete follow-up activities with the registration lock-in
- Develop and maintain a high degree of visibility for AB&T Mortgage in the marketplace
- Perform miscellaneous duties as needed and required
SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES: (10%)
- Participates in professional associations; attends industry-related conventions, conferences, reads pertinent publications.
- Develops relationships with other bank-related executives to enhance network and to increase awareness of new services/opportunities.
- Represents Bank at various civic and community events.
- Adhere to compliance procedures and participate in required training.

Education
- BS/BA degree or higher
- Continuous education through participation in banking association sponsored events
Experience
- 3 Years of Mortgage Industry Experience
- 3 Years of sales experience
Other Skills and Abilities
- Basic Microsoft Office skills
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Mortgage industry and customer service experience
- Experience with the Encompass Loan Origination Platform is preferred, but not eqrite
PERFORMANCE MEASURES:
- This position requires SAFE registration at the time of employment. American Bank & Trust will initiate the SAFE registration process immediately after your employment start date. The Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) web site (http://fedregistry.nationwidelicensingsystem.org ) provides the MU4R questions and registration required for employment in this position.
- Individuals in Loan Originator (LO) positions must meet the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau qualification requirements and comply with related American Bank &Trust policies. The LO qualification requirements include meeting applicable financial responsibility, character, general financial fitness and criminal background standards. A current credit report will be used to assess your financial responsibility and credit fitness, however, a credit score is not included as part of the evaluation. Successful candidates must also meet ongoing regulatory requirements including additional screening, if necessary.
- This position requires compliance with all mortgage regulatory requirements and American Bank &Trust compliance policies related to these requirements including acceptable background check investigation results. Successful candidates must also meet ongoing regulatory requirements including additional screening and required reporting of certain incidents.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work is performed largely within the Bank with limited chance for personal injury. Prolonged and frequent mental and visual concentration required. Periodic stressful situations in response to multiple priorities within established deadlines. Work hours are generally during normal business hours. Unscheduled evening and weekend work may be needed to meet the needs of customers and employees. Occasional out-of-town and overnight business travel may be required. Work on some Saturdays will be required. Must be able to lift and move up to 20 pounds of office supplies and equipment. Some bending, turning, and twisting required.
