Duties
- Perform comprehensive auto body repairs including dent removal, panel replacement, and structural straightening using advanced techniques such as MIG welding, soldering, and sheet metal work.
- Utilize a wide range of hand tools, power tools, and auto painting equipment.
- Fabricate custom parts or modify existing components through welding, assembly, and metalworking skills to meet specific repair needs.
- Inspect vehicles thoroughly for mechanical issues related to auto restoration or general automotive repair; perform necessary mechanical adjustments or repairs.
- Communicate effectively with management and co-workers regarding the scope of work and estimated timelines.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years experience in an auto body repair shop or dealership is highly preferred.
- Must have your own tools.
- Strong proficiency in MIG welding, soldering, fabrication, and sheet metal work.
- Mechanical knowledge of automotive systems and auto estimating processes.
- Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, heavy lifting equipment, and specialized auto body repair tools safely and efficiently.
- Knowledge of automotive repair standards and safety protocols; ability to perform detailed detailing work when required.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly about repairs and estimates.
- Flatbed towing experience is a plus!
- Work independently or as part of a team, utilize good judgement, follow company rules, demonstrate attention to detail.
