The University of Tennessee Foundation, Inc (UTFI) invites applications and nominations to fill the positionof Senior Director of Advancement for the College of Nursing. Reporting to the Associate Vice Chancellorof Advancement, the Senior Director of Advancement will work alongside the Dean and other key facultyand staff to set and execute a fundraising strategy to support the priorities of the College.The highest-ranked undergraduate Nursing college in the state of Tennessee, UT’s College of Nursing isranked No. 18 among public universities nationally. With innovative industry partnerships, significantrecent investment in endowed giving and a new,state-of-the-art117,000 square foot building in the heartof the Knoxville campus, momentum around UTNursing has never been greater. The most recent fiscalyear was the most successful in college history, and the college has raised more than $57 million towardits $70 million campaign goal.The College of Nursing in Knoxville is nationally ranked and internationally recognized for its diverse comprehensive programs.Innovative simulation, interprofessional collaboration, research and community outreachlead the wayto improving health outcomes and meeting the challenges facing health care today.The College is committed to providing excellent education to preparenurses who have a broad understanding of the profession, public policy, leadership, and health care systems.TheSeniorDirectorwillactivelyparticipatein monthly College of Nursing Administrative & Director’s meetings and faculty/Director’s meetings.Position Functions/ResponsibilitiesThe selected individual willbe responsible forthe strategic leadership of thecollege’sadvancement efforts and will play the lead role in building and executing a strategicfundraising/advancement plan for the college alongside new dean Dr.VinciyaPandian. The successfulcandidate will lead the goal setting,planningand supervision of the Advancement team, which currentlyincludes an Advancement Coordinator. The Senior Director will be viewed as a leader on campus and mustexhibitthehigh standardsof performance and professionalism expected of the College of Nursing andUTK Advancement.The successful candidate will manage a portfolio of current and prospective donors,includingidentifying, cultivating,solicitingand stewarding financial investments in thecollege with a focuson gifts of $50,000 . Building relationships andmaintaininga healthypipeline of donors,alumniandvolunteers will be a key indicator of success. Anentrepreneurial spirit and willingness to travel (includingvisits with the Dean and other academic leaders) will maximize fundraising potential. Leading by examplewith proper and thorough data entry into UTFI’s CRM system isa must.The chosen individual will serve as a key partner throughout theCollege and Division of Advancement, including Planned Giving, Regional, Corporate fundraisers tomaximize potential.
