Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily operations of simulation and skills labs, including scheduling, inventory management, and equipment maintenance.
- Ensure simulation curricula meet Maryland State Board of Nursing and national accreditation standards.
- Maintain documentation related to simulation operations, policies, and procedures.
- Train and support faculty and staff in simulation pedagogy and use of simulation technologies.
- Manage and provide technical support for high-fidelity simulators, task trainers, and virtual simulation tools.
- Serve as a liaison to internal and external partners regarding simulation practices and collaborations.
- Teach assigned nursing courses in classroom, lab, simulation, and/or clinical settings.
- Mentor new faculty and contribute to faculty development in simulation and teaching excellence.
- Maintain active involvement in professional development, scholarship, and research related to simulation and nursing education.
- Graduate degree in Nursing (Master’s required; Doctoral degree preferred).
- Current Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE) credential or willingness to obtain certification within two years of hire.
- Active, unencumbered Maryland RN license or multistate privilege to practice registered nursing.
- Minimum of two years of recent clinical experience as a registered nurse.
- At least one year of simulation or lab teaching experience, or a combination of education and professional experience relevant to the role (three years preferred).
- Expertise in nursing practice aligned with assigned teaching responsibilities.
- Demonstrated proficiency in nursing education, curriculum development, and technology-enhanced instruction.
