CRNA PROGRAM DIRECTOR (FOUNDING)
Shenandoah University’s Eleanor Wade Custer School of Nursing invites applications for a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) Program Director (Founding). This is a full-time, 12-month, fully benefitted faculty position located on our main campus in Winchester, Virginia. Position starts Fall 2026.
Position Overview & Responsibilities
The Founding Program Director will serve as a core leader, directing the development, evaluation, and initial accreditation processes of our new nurse anesthesia program. Responsibilities include:

The School of Nursing is approved by the Virginia Board of Nursing and accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). ACME accredits our Nurse-Midwifery program, and SACS accredits Shenandoah University.
We offer robust academic tracks across two physical locations (Winchester Main Campus and Loudoun), as well as online graduate programs with on-site campus immersions. Our programs include traditional, transfer, and accelerated BSN options, MSN tracks (FNP, PMHNP, NM), Post-Graduate Certificates, and DNP degrees.

- Coordinating the CRNA program and directing its development from the ground up.
- Providing visionary leadership in the design, review, and execution of the CRNA curricula in accordance with professional standards and curricular processes.
- Managing professional accreditation processes and ensuring long-term program compliance.
- Fulfilling teaching, service, and scholarship responsibilities within the School of Nursing.
- Contributing actively to the University's and the School of Nursing's Mission and Vision.
- Education: Doctoral-prepared CRNA from an accredited institution.
- Licensure/Certification: Current license and active national certification as a CRNA, maintaining active clinical practice.
- Experience: Previous academic and COA accreditation experience is required.
