The Department of Nursing in the College of Nursing and Health Sciences (CNHS) at the University of Vermont (UVM) invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure track clinical faculty position at the rank of Clinical Assistant or Associate Professor to serve as Director of Simulation Education. This 10-month appointment combines teaching with leadership of simulation-based education within the Department of Nursing.
The Director provides administrative and faculty leadership for nursing simulation activities, including low-, medium-, and high-fidelity simulation. The role supports curricular integration, faculty development, and innovation in simulation pedagogy while collaborating with the Clinical Simulation Laboratory (CSL) and interprofessional partners.

Responsibilities
- Teach in undergraduate and/or graduate nursing programs
- Provide leadership and oversight for nursing simulation activities
- Design, implement, and evaluate simulation experiences aligned with curricular outcomes
- Collaborate with faculty on simulation scenario design and standardized patient training
- Represent the Department of Nursing on the CSL Operations Team and Advisory Board
- Support faculty development in simulation pedagogy across CNHS and interprofessional partners
- Monitor simulation-related budgets and recommend emerging technologies and equipment
- Doctorate in Nursing preferred (PhD or DNP)
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited program required
- Eligibility for Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE) credential
- Current or eligible unencumbered Registered Nurse license in Vermont
- Expertise in simulation education and debriefing methodologies
- Experience teaching in a nursing curriculum
- Minimum five (5) years of recent direct patient care experience
- At least two years of focused simulation practice including design, implementation, mentorship, or faculty development
- Interest in innovation, emerging technologies, and simulation-based faculty development
