The University of Kentucky, College of Nursing is seeking a dynamic and experienced leader for an Associate Professor or Professor, with credentials that merit tenure in the Special Title Series. This position will also serve as the Associate Dean of Graduate Programs and Practice. This role is pivotal in shaping our academic and clinical excellence and fostering a supportive and innovative environment for faculty, students, and staff. This position is a 12- month appointment with an anticipated Distribution of Effort of approximately 50-60% Administration and Service, 15% Research and Scholarly Activity, and 25-35% % Teaching and Advising. This onsite position is based in Lexington, KY and we anticipate a start date on July 1, 2025, but no later than August 1, 2025.
This Special Title Series role’s key responsibilities will include: 1) directing, managing, and identifying resources to support the program’s strategic goals; 2) assisting with recruitment and identi?cation of candidates for faculty positions; 3) oversight of course scheduling and workload effort within the Graduate program; 4) providing leadership and oversight of track coordinators; 5) promotion of faculty professional development in teaching, research, scholarship and service; 6) management of the performance review process for faculty; 7) support related to faculty promotion, tenure, awards, recognition and committee membership; 8) facilitation of faculty governance and day to day operations within the graduate program and practice; 9) collaboration with the Assistant Dean of Student Success to support student achievement; 10) oversight of the development, administration and monitoring of the graduate program budget; 11) allocation of resources and approving any expenditures related to faculty affairs; 12) management of clinical affairs within the College, including faculty and student credentialing, supervision of clinical staff, clinical contracts, and memorandum of understanding across practice plans; 13) supporting staff functions within the Graduate Program and Practice areas; 14) responsibility for the College of Nursing Wilmore clinic and any other College of Nursing clinics.
The required education for quali?ed applicants is an earned doctorate degree in nursing or related ?eld and an active, unencumbered Kentucky RN license. Candidates should have a minimum of 10 years of professional nursing experience, with expertise in curriculum, demonstrated excellence in leadership, and evidence of being a master teacher. This individual will exhibit strong interpersonal communication and organizational skills with a commitment to ongoing scholarship aligned with professional interests.
