Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and knowledgeable Arborist to join our team. As an Arborist, you will be responsible for the care and maintenance of trees, shrubs, and other woody plants. Your expertise in tree health assessment, pruning, planting, and removal will be crucial in preserving the aesthetics, safety, and environmental well-being of our clients' landscapes. You will work both independently and collaboratively with a team of professionals to ensure the proper management and conservation of trees.

Key Responsibilities:

Tree Care and Maintenance:Assess the health and condition of trees, identifying diseases, pests, and structural issues.
Develop and implement tree care plans, including pruning, fertilization, and irrigation, to enhance tree health and vitality.
Perform tree risk assessments to identify potential hazards and recommend appropriate remedial actions.
Conduct regular inspections to monitor the growth and development of trees and address any issues promptly.
Provide expert advice to clients on tree selection, planting techniques, and long-term maintenance strategies.

Tree Pruning and Removal:Utilize proper pruning techniques to improve tree structure, promote growth, and enhance aesthetic appeal.
Safely and efficiently perform tree removals when necessary, considering factors such as proximity to buildings, utility lines, and environmental impact.
Operate and maintain specialized equipment, including chainsaws, aerial lifts, and stump grinders, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
Ensure compliance with local regulations and obtain permits for tree removal or pruning when required.

Tree Planting and Transplanting:Assist in the selection of appropriate tree species for specific locations, considering factors such as soil conditions, climate, and future growth.
Properly plant trees, ensuring proper depth, alignment, and soil compaction to promote healthy root development.
Provide guidance on transplanting mature trees, taking into account potential root damage and the need for proper aftercare.

Disease and Pest Management:Identify and diagnose tree diseases, insect infestations, and nutrient deficiencies.
Develop and implement integrated pest management (IPM) strategies to control pests and diseases while minimizing environmental impact.
Apply appropriate treatments, such as spraying insecticides or fungicides, and recommend follow-up care to prevent reinfestation.

Client Communication and Education:Communicate effectively with clients, providing clear explanations of tree care recommendations, costs, and expected outcomes.
Educate clients on proper tree maintenance practices, including watering, mulching, and pruning, to promote their involvement in tree care.
Address client inquiries and concerns in a professional and timely manner, building strong relationships and fostering customer satisfaction.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Certified Arborist (e.g., ISA Certified Arborist) or similar professional certification preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of tree biology, species identification, and arboricultural practices.
  • Experience in tree pruning, removal, planting, and risk assessment.
  • Proficiency in operating and maintaining arboricultural equipment.
  • Strong understanding of safety protocols related to tree work.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Physical stamina and the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
