The successful applicant will have a hybrid or remote work arrangement, but must reside within a 125-mile radius of the AAA's office located in Downtown Manhattan. The starting salary range for the position is $117,000 - $123,000, plus an annual incentive opportunity targeting up to 10% of the base salary.
The DevSecOps Engineer is a hands-on technical role responsible for implementing, operating, and continuously improving DevSecOps practices across the application lifecycle. This role partners closely with development, infrastructure, security, and business teams to automate build, test, security scanning, deployment, and monitoring processes across on-premises and cloud platforms. This position ensures applications are delivered securely, reliably, and efficiently by embedding security controls, automation, and observability into CI/CD pipelines and cloud infrastructure.
Essential Functions
Bachelor's degree in a technical field, with 5 years of IT infrastructure, middleware, or application platform experience, including at least 3 years in a DevOps/DevSecOps role, 3 years of experience with Linux and Windows platforms, and 2 years of cloud platform experience (Azure, OCI, AWS, or equivalent) or an equivalent mix of education and experience.

Essential Functions
- Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using DevSecOps best practices.
- Develop automation (tools/scripts) to reduce manual deployment and configuration tasks.
- Integrate SDLC security controls: SAST, dependency scanning, secrets management.
- Standardize pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, and application artifacts.
- Build and support DevSecOps infrastructure across on-prem and cloud platforms.
- Enforce platform/pipeline/deployment standards aligned to security and compliance requirements.
- Troubleshoot and resolve pipeline failures, deployment issues, and environment inconsistencies.
- Support coordinated releases; partner with Development and QA to ensure secure, repeatable deployments.
- Strengthen resilience via DR planning/testing, remediation, documentation/runbooks, and mentoring/knowledge sharing.

- Strong proficiency with CI/CD pipeline design and implementation using Azure DevOps or similar platforms, with expertise in pipeline-as-code, YAML-based automation, and deployment orchestration
- Deep understanding of DevSecOps principles and practices, including secure SDLC processes, automated security scanning, secrets management, and compliance integration
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (Azure preferred) and cloud-native technologies, including containers, Kubernetes, microservices architectures, and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, ARM, or similar)
- Working knowledge of application stacks (.NET and/or Java), scripting languages, and automation frameworks to support build, test, and deployment processes
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with demonstrated capability to troubleshoot complex technical issues, collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams, and drive continuous improvement initiatives
