PATIENT TRANSPORTER (PD-NOC)

POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:  Performs activities related to transportation of patients as directed while ensuring patient safety and comfort at all times.  Must be able to perform jobs in all patient care and operational areas subject to reasonable accommodations.  Also must participate in the Respiratory Protection Program, which may include the wearing of a respirator. This is a union position.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Transports patients to and from patient rooms and the Radiology Department as directed ensuring patient safety and comfort.
2. Performs activities related to transportation of patients as directed such as assisting clinical personnel in transferring patients to or from beds, chairs, wheelchairs or stretchers.
3. Maintains and cleans gurneys and wheelchairs.
4. Assists Radiologic Technologists in moving patients on and off X-Ray tables.
5. Maintains awareness and participates in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) to ensure a safe patient environment.
6. Attends and actively participates in team conferences and staff meetings.
7. Participates actively in orientation of new employees and on-the-job training of assigned personnel.
8. Adheres to all Dameron Hospital Association policies and procedures including but not limited to, the hospital Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program, safety rules, Joint Commission standards, California Department of Public Health (CDPH) regulations and any other regulatory agency.
9. Provides methodology for dissemination of information providing opportunities for discussions of division problems, and orientation of new projects or procedures, as assigned.
10. Performs all tasks demonstrating service excellence to both staff and customers.
11. Demonstrates, supports, and models the mission, vision, values and code of conduct for Dameron Hospital Association.
12. Communicates appropriately and effectively to support the department mission.

NON-ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Willingly performs other duties as assigned or requested

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:  

Education:        High school graduate or equivalent preferred.

Experience:       Previous transporter or CNA experience in a hospital or nursing home preferred.

Licenses/Certificates:    Current BLS Certification through AHA required.

Salary : $30
