The Accountant collaborates with program and operations teams to support student-centered decisions, assists with audits and month-end close, and maintains accurate records for grants and workforce development initiatives in a structured, collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, examine, and reconcile general ledger entries and financial statements for program operations
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, organizational policies, and contract/grant requirements for Job Corps programs
- Monitor budgets, track expenditures, and support variance analysis for center and program leadership
- Process invoices, purchase orders, and reimbursements while maintaining accurate documentation
- Assist with month-end and year-end close, journal entries, and account reconciliations
- Support audits by preparing schedules, reports, and supporting documentation
- Analyze financial data to provide insights that support student-centered, mission-driven decision making
- Collaborate with program, HR, and operations staff to resolve accounting issues and improve processes
- Maintain accurate records for grants and restricted funds in educational and workforce development programs
- Use accounting software and Excel to generate reports and dashboards for management
