American Access, Inc. is looking for a hands-on Field Service Technician to join our team in Tallahassee, FL. In this role, you’ll install and service modular aluminum access ramps that help veterans, families, and community members live more independently.

What You’ll Do
- Travel locally up to several hours away to customer sites using a company vehicle
- Perform home evaluations and take measurements for ramp installations
- Install aluminum ramps and safety equipment to spec
- Provide friendly, professional customer service
- Maintain tools, vehicle, and equipment in good working order
- Complete simple job reports on a tablet or smartphone
- Support warehouse team with product inventory and scheduling
What We’re Looking For
- 1 year of experience in construction, home services, or similar work
- Comfortable with hand and power tools (tape measure, drill, saw, etc.)
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to lift 80 lbs and work outdoors in varying conditions
- Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and ability to pass a background/drug screen
- Must be 21 years of age or older
(ADA knowledge is a plus, but not required — we provide training.)

- Evaluates and takes measurements at customer’s homes and recommends proper equipment
* Sketch job plan layout that shows details of installation requirements
- Installs products to residential or commercial structures according to work order specifications, safety procedures, and instructions
- Verifies that job specifications are appropriate for work orders
- Safely drives company vehicle to customers’ houses or places of business
- Maintains vehicle and equipment in clean and proper operating condition
- Completes required production forms at end of daily work order assignments
- Maintains machinery by performing routine preventative and scheduled maintenance on equipment and troubleshooting problems and malfunctions as needed
- Safekeeping, proper use and care of all company property issued during employment, including tools, toolboxes, electronic devices, credit cards, productivity tools and documents
- Plans and executes schedule to meet daily and weekly deadlines
Education and Experience Requirements
- At least 1 year of work-related experience in home services, construction, or equivalent;
* Hand Tool experience required;
- High school diploma or equivalent
* ADA knowledge a plus
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Ability to write simple correspondence using email, smart phones, tablets
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to sketch job layout plans, simple “blueprints”
- Basic construction knowledge and power tool proficiency
- Use of technology; tablet, smart phone, GPS, internet
- Strong interpersonal skills with customers and support staff
- Physical strength, stamina, and dexterity to lift and move up to 80lbs and stoop, bend, and stand throughout the course of up to a 12-hour work day in varying weather conditions at various construction sites with varying terrain
- Maintain valid driver’s license
- Ability to pass drug screening, background check and have a clean motor vehicle report
