Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and dependable Driver to join our dynamic logistics team. As a Driver, you will be responsible for safely transporting freight, including refrigerated goods, hazardous materials, and various cargo, across designated routes. Duties
- Operate a variety of commercial trucks, including tractor-trailers, flatbeds, and tankers, following all FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations.
- Safely load and unload freight, ensuring proper handling of logistics cargo and hazardous materials in compliance with hazardous materials regulations.
- Navigate routes using GPS navigation systems to optimize delivery times and maintain accurate delivery schedules for over-the-road (OTR) driving routes.
- Transport refrigerated trailers, ensuring temperature-sensitive freight remains in optimal condition during transit.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to identify maintenance needs or safety concerns.
- Maintain detailed logs of driving hours, cargo documentation, and delivery records in accordance with DOT regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients to coordinate deliveries and resolve any route or cargo issues promptly.
Requirements
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with endorsements for hazardous materials (Hazmat), tanker, or other relevant certifications preferred.
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including delivery driving and route driving with freight handling.
- Familiarity with refrigerated trailers, flatbed trucks, tanker trucks, and automobile transportation.
- Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT standards, hazardous goods handling, and safety protocols for manual handling and truck loading/unloading.
- Ability to operate manual transmission vehicles confidently and safely over long distances on OTR routes.
- Strong understanding of logistics cargo handling procedures for dangerous goods and freight security requirements.
- Excellent navigation skills utilizing GPS systems to ensure efficient routing.
- Physical ability to load/unload cargo manually when necessary and perform vehicle inspections regularly.
