About the role
The Transportation Manager will be responsible for managing the transportation department assuring and coordinating the safe and efficient transport of all PACE participants. They must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to participate in assessing, planning for, and providing transportation services with company policies and procedures.
We are seeking a Transportation Manager to manage our Transport Drivers to support PACE Operations client services which is to deliver excellent customer service consistently. Our Transport Drivers assist wheelchair clients getting in and out of the vehicle and assist clients with a "through the door" service. Transportation Manager applicants must have a flexible work schedule, to accommodate the business need.
What you'll do
- Personnel Management: Oversee the full lifecycle of driver management, including hiring, training, scheduling, evaluations, meetings, and disciplinary actions.
- Fleet and Operations Oversight: Manage fleet operations by ensuring accurate schedules, coordinating daily transportation needs, and submitting required reports.
- Communication and Relationship Building: Build strong relationships with participants, families, and PACE Care staff; handle grievances and conduct service recovery calls; collaborate with senior center staff.
- Policy and Technology Compliance: Ensure transportation staff comply with company policies, contractual requirements, and required technologies (Velocity EHS, NEMT App, Zello, Blink, MS Teams, Rippling); attend IDT meetings.
Qualifications
Education and Training
- High school diploma required; college degree preferred.
- Valid state driver's license or commercial driver's license (Preferred: Passenger endorsement).
- CPR/First Aid Certified Instructor preferred but will train.
Knowledge and Experience:
- Experience in senior care or a related human services industry.
- One year of experience working with the elderly is required.
- Extensive knowledge of city streets, neighborhoods, and traffic patterns.
- Experience in vehicle scheduling and dispatching is a plus.
- Previous supervisory or management experience preferred.
Core Competencies
- Must be a self-starter.
- Must be able to work unsupervised.
- Must be able to manage multiple tasks and see them completed in a timely manner.
- Must possess good communication skills.
- Must be computer literate and proficient with Word, Excel and database management software.
Working Conditions
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Must provide a current driving record printout when applying (Valid 30 days from date of application)
- Must pass pre-employment screening - background and drug screen which includes alcohol screening

Working Conditions
- Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and any shift as necessary.
- Work hours: 07:00 AM - 17:00 PM, with varying shifts (occasional need for after-hour calls).
- Might be required to drive vehicles as needed.
- Must be able to travel out of town with overnight when necessary.
Physical Requirements
- Be able to push 50lbs and lift 150lbs minimum
- Position requires working in a seated position while operating computer, keyboard, mouse, phones and printers and filing of documents
- Position may require standing/walking for up to 4 hours.

The pay range for this role is:
70,000 - 73,000 USD per year(CA11 - Habitat Health Compton )
