Position Purpose and Objectives
The Shipping & Receiving Supervisor oversees the daily operations of the shipping and receiving team, ensuring the efficient movement of goods in and out of the store. This includes monitoring inventory, managing deliveries, and upholding company standards for accuracy and efficiency. The supervisor will take a hands-on approach in auditing, quality control, and training to optimize performance. They will set an example for teamwork, safety, and productivity while ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.

Position Purpose and Objectives

The supervisor will take a hands-on approach in auditing, quality control, and training to optimize performance. They will set an example for teamwork, safety, and productivity while ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Direct and supervise the work of shipping and receiving team members.
- Oversee inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring timely and accurate handling.
- Maintain inventory tracking systems to record deliveries, stock levels, and discrepancies.
- Ensure proper documentation and labeling of shipments for accuracy and compliance.
- Monitor and enforce safety procedures related to material handling and equipment use.
- Analyze daily stock levels and address shortages or overages as needed.
- Assist with recruiting, onboarding, and training team members.
- Create and maintain team schedules based on operational needs.
- Provide coaching and feedback to improve performance and efficiency.
- Maintain organization and cleanliness of the receiving and storage areas.
- Assist with loss prevention efforts by following security protocols and ensuring compliance with company policies.
- Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, and internal teams to streamline shipping and receiving processes.
- Assist donors per company standards.
- Ensure compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations.
- Support store leadership in implementing sales and marketing programs when needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Assistant Store Manager or General Manager.
- At least two years of experience as a supervisor, team lead, or key holder in a shipping, receiving, logistics, or warehouse environment.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Basic mathematical and computer skills.
- Ability to operate material handling equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, forklifts) preferred.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to assess and coach team performance.
- Successful completion of background check, motor vehicle check, and drug screen.
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.

Physical Demands:
- Frequently - Carrying up to 50 lbs., pushing and pulling up to 25 lbs., lifting up to 50 lbs., climbing up to 14-foot height, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, handling and smelling.
- Frequently - Walking on tile/concrete, bending, feeling, and reaching waist/overhead level.
- Continuously - Standing on tile/concrete, talking, seeing, and hearing.
- Mostly regular and weekend hours, occasionally working evenings and holiday hours as needed.
- Working environment includes inside of building withsemi- controlled temperatures and outside conditions with varying weather and temperatures.
