Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair small engines, UTVs, and power equipment using schematics and technical manuals
- Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, tune-ups, and part replacements to ensure optimal performance
- Troubleshoot electrical systems, including wiring, switches, and electrical diagnostics to identify issues efficiently
- Repair mechanical systems including engines (gasoline and diesel), transmissions, brakes, and suspension components
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering irons, and other specialized tools to complete repairs accurately
- Conduct equipment troubleshooting for power generation systems and heavy machinery to minimize downtime
- Maintain detailed service records and update diagnostic reports for each vehicle or piece of equipment serviced
Requirements
- Proven dealership experience or service technician background with small engine or UTV repair expertise
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in engine repair—gasoline and diesel engines preferred
- Familiarity with schematics, electrical diagnostics, welding, soldering, and electrical work techniques
- Ability to handle heavy lifting safely while performing vehicle maintenance or equipment repairs
- Experience working with automotive repair systems and mechanical systems repair processes
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other maintenance tools
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients
- Knowledge of Caterpillar or similar heavy machinery is a plus but not required
