Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Occupational Therapist role based in Worcester, MA. The Occupational Therapist will visit clients in their homes, assess functional abilities, and develop individualized treatment plans to improve daily living skills, safety, and independence. Day-to-day responsibilities include providing therapeutic interventions, training clients and caregivers in adaptive techniques and equipment use, and collaborating with physicians, nurses, and other care team members to coordinate services. The role also involves documenting evaluations and progress notes in accordance with clinical and regulatory standards, participating in care planning meetings, and educating clients and families on strategies to support ongoing rehabilitation and wellness.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong skills in Occupational Therapy and Rehabilitation, including assessment, treatment planning, and evidence-based interventions.
- Candidates should possess foundational knowledge in Medicine relevant to home health, including understanding of common diagnoses, precautions, and interdisciplinary care.
- Candidates should possess excellent Communication skills, including clear documentation, caregiver education, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
- Candidates should possess experience or interest in Pediatrics, with the ability to adapt interventions to meet the developmental needs of children when applicable.
- Current state licensure as an Occupational Therapist (OTR) and graduation from an accredited occupational therapy program.
- Previous experience in home health, community-based care, or rehabilitation settings is preferred.
- Ability to travel locally for home visits, manage a caseload independently, and maintain professional boundaries and ethical standards.
- CPR certification and familiarity with electronic health records are beneficial.
