We are seeking an experienced Processing Manager to lead and oversee our case processing department. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in tax resolution or a related financial services field, excellent organizational skills, and proven leadership experience. This role is critical to ensuring the smooth and timely handling of client cases from intake through resolution.
Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the daily operations of the processing department.
- Supervise a team of case managers and support staff, ensuring productivity and accuracy.
- Review and approve case files for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with firm standards and IRS/state guidelines.
- Collaborate with tax professionals, enrolled agents, attorneys, and case managers to ensure proper handling of all tax resolution cases.
- Monitor processing timelines to ensure deadlines are met and cases move forward efficiently.
- Develop, implement, and refine standard operating procedures to improve processing workflows.
- Serve as the point of escalation for complex or high-priority cases.
- Train, mentor, and evaluate staff performance to maintain a high-performing team.
- Ensure accurate documentation and data entry in the case management system.
- Stay current on changes to IRS and state tax resolution procedures and regulations.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a processing, operations, or case management role within a tax resolution firm or similar financial/legal services environment.
- Proven leadership or managerial experience.
- Strong knowledge of IRS collections, offers in compromise, installment agreements, penalty abatements, and other tax resolution strategies.
- Familiarity with tax resolution software and CRM systems
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy under pressure.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus
- EA (Enrolled Agent), licensed Attorney, Tax attorney, CPA certification is a plus but not required.
