Molding Operator

Hiring for 2 positions:

*Hiring 2nd shift employee first, shift is 7:30pm - 6:00am Monday - Thursday (4, 10s)

*Hiring 1st shift employee second, 9:00am-7:30pm Monday-Thursday (4, 10s)

Position Summary
Operates injection molding machinery to produce quality plastic components and finished products according to work orders, production specifications, and quality standards. Performs machine operation, material handling, part finishing, assembly, packaging, and general housekeeping duties while maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Operate injection molding machines to manufacture plastic products from thermoplastic materials in accordance with work orders and production specifications.
• Install inserts, components, and other materials into molds as required by work order specifications.
• Load premixed plastic powders, pellets, or other approved materials into machine hoppers and start equipment according to established operating procedures.
• Monitor molding machines during production to ensure proper operation, consistent part quality, and uninterrupted production.
• Remove finished parts from molds and inspect products for defects, proper dimensions, and overall quality.
• Trim excess plastic, flash, and other unwanted material from molded parts using knives, cutters, or other approved hand tools.
• Mix thermoplastic materials and coloring pigments using specified formulas when required.
• Grind and process approved scrap plastic into pellets for reuse in accordance with production procedures.
• Assemble finished products and components into retail boxes or other packaging according to customer and work order requirements.
• Label, package, and prepare completed products for shipment.
• Perform basic quality checks and promptly report defective parts, equipment issues, material concerns, or other production problems to the appropriate supervisor.
• Maintain accurate production, quality, and material records as required.
• Keep machines, tools, workstations, and surrounding production areas clean, organized, and free of hazards.
• Follow all company safety procedures, operating instructions, quality standards, and personal protective equipment requirements.
• Perform other related production duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during the work shift.
• Ability to frequently use hands and arms for repetitive production, trimming, assembly, and material-handling tasks.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials, boxes, and production components as required.
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, heat, noise, and plastic materials.
• Ability to safely use required hand tools and production equipment.

Qualifications

• Previous manufacturing, injection molding, production, or assembly experience preferred.
• Ability to read and follow work orders, production instructions, and quality specifications.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality products.
• Ability to work independently as well as effectively as part of a production team.
• Dependable, safety-conscious, and willing to learn new processes and equipment.

Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
