Process Engineer and Molding Floor Manager

Reports directly to the Ameri-Tool President

Position Objective:

To establish World Class Injection Molding Processes. Develop and mentor all Ameri-Tool Process Technician’s to be World Class in their respective fields.  Ensure optimum cycle time, yields and defect rates are geared towards world class performance. Lead efforts to introduce new technology to Ameri-Tool and its customers.

Responsibilities:

Primary:

• Teach world class molding procedures/processes to staff.
• Support continuous improvement activities for all mature programs.
• Add value to all tool building projects, supporting Toolroom with innovative tooling solutions.
• Add value to engineering of automation projects and secondary equipment required for molding and/or assembly programs.
• Act as a liaison to manufacturing for all process related issues.
• Continually develop continuity into all programs and projects.
• Ensure that department quality and profit objectives are met.
• To nurture and support the development of all customer accounts.
• To build mutually rewarding relationships with all external and internal customers.
• Establish and develop capital projects.
• Follow policies that support quality process.
• Participate in quoting process, add engineering value to all internal and external quotes.
• Coordinate the flow of technical information between customers, Ameri-Tool personnel and outside suppliers.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Ameri-Tool President

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in plastics engineering or ten years of related experience in a custom injection molding environment with hands on experience.
• Ten years process engineering experience, in the plastics industry.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Five years customer relations experience preferred.
• Ability to effectively manage employees, multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Computer knowledge and experience.
