Qualifications
To qualify, you should have:
- 3 years of progressive marine experience OR 5 years of comparable construction trade experience
- Working knowledge of:
- Cabinet making
- Carpentry
- Industrial insulation
- HVAC systems
- Basic mechanical aptitude and trade math skills
- Ability to read, interpret, and work from blueprints and mechanical drawings
- Ability to interpret construction drawings and perform accurate material takeoffs
- Read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings with minimal supervision.
- Lay out, fabricate, and install:
- Bulkheads
- Doors
- Ceilings
- Shelving
- Furniture
- Consoles
- Other interior components
- Measure, fabricate, and install insulation and ductwork.
- Mark layouts, shoot pins, and insulate deckheads, side shells, beams, and duct systems.
- Measure, build, and install mounting pads.
- Install pipe insulation and fittings with clean, professional workmanship.
- Fabricate sheet metal using shears and brakes.
- Read both standard and metric tape measurements.
- Take drawings and materials to the job site and complete work independently.
- Install valves, air hangers, and other HVAC equipment.
- Lay out hangers, ductwork, and related components.
- Perform basic interior painting as needed.
- Complete work safely, accurately, and with minimal supervision.
