Speech Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) - School Based Location: St. Louis City Schools (Multiple Sites) Openings: 5 Schedule: School-Based, In-Person Position Hours: 32.5 Hours per Week Contract Length: 9 Months Start Date: August 10, 2026 Position Overview We are seeking compassionate and flexible Speech Language Pathologist Assistants (SLPAs) to support students across St. Louis City schools. This is an in-person role providing therapy services to students with a variety of communication needs. Candidates must be adaptable and willing to work at one or more nearby school sites based on student caseload and district needs. Schedule SLPAs work 32.5 hours per week and may select up to two preferred schedules from the following options: 7:00 AM - 2:00 PM 8:00 AM - 3:00 PM 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM Important Flexibility Requirement Please Note: Flexibility is essential for this role. SLPAs serve the students of St. Louis City Schools and may be assigned to more than one school location depending on caseload needs. If multiple sites are required, assignments will be at nearby schools. Candidates should be comfortable adapting to changes in schedules, locations, or student assignments as needed. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provide speech and language therapy services under the supervision of a licensed Speech Language Pathologist. Implement individualized treatment plans and therapy goals. Support students with communication, language, articulation, and related speech needs. Document therapy sessions and maintain accurate records within the district's charting system. Collaborate with Speech Language Pathologists, teachers, administrators, and support staff. Monitor student progress and communicate observations to supervising clinicians. Maintain compliance with district policies and special education requirements. Support positive student engagement and learning outcomes. Student Population All grade levels served. Primarily elementary school placements. Majority of students within the Special Education population have: Learning Disabilities Other Health Impairments (OHI), including ADHD Caseload Information Average caseload: 35-50 students Caseload size varies based on service minutes. Maximum caseload will not exceed 50 students. Interview Process Client interview required Virtual interview conducted via Zoom Qualifications Associate's degree or higher from an accredited Speech-Language Pathology Assistant program. Current SLPA licensure/certification as required by the state. School-based experience preferred, but not required. Strong communication, organizational, and collaboration skills.
