About The Role
We’re seeking a Masters-level, California-licensed and certified Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to support students across elementary, middle, and high school grades near Pine Grove, CA. The SLP will conduct comprehensive student evaluations, develop and implement speech therapy services aligned to IEPs and the plan of care (in accordance with physician’s orders when applicable), deliver services in small groups and 1:1, and maintain compliant documentation. This is a collaborative, school-based role that partners closely with special education teachers, general education teachers, and related service providers to support student access and progress.

Key Duties & Responsibilities
Evaluation & Eligibility
- Conduct comprehensive speech-language evaluations for initial and triennial assessments, using multiple measures (standardized assessments, language/phonology sampling, dynamic assessment, curriculum-based measures, observations, rating scales, interviews).
- Analyze results to determine eligibility, present levels, and educational impact in alignment with IDEA and district policies.
- Write clear, defensible evaluation reports with data-based recommendations for services, goals, accommodations, and classroom strategies.
- Provide speech-language therapy per IEPs and plan of care, including articulation/phonology, fluency, voice/resonance, receptive/expressive language, pragmatics/social communication, and AAC support as appropriate.
- Deliver services via small groups and individual sessions with clear, measurable objectives.
- Integrate curriculum-relevant activities and collaborate with teachers to generalize skills in the classroom.
- Participate in IEP meetings; present findings, craft measurable goals, recommend accommodations and service minutes, and document progress.
- Maintain timely and accurate documentation: service logs, progress notes, IEP updates, plan of care updates, and billing/Medicaid documentation as required by the district.
- Adhere to IDEA, Section 504, California Education Code, district procedures, FERPA, and professional/ethical standards.
- Consult with teachers on strategies, environmental supports, and classroom accommodations (e.g., visuals, scaffolds, vocabulary supports, phonological awareness activities).
- Coordinate with special education, general education, school psychologists, OT/PT, counselors, and administrators to support MTSS/RTI and inclusive practices.
- Engage and educate families on home carryover strategies, progress, and resources.
- Select and implement evidence-based interventions and progress monitoring tools.
- Manage schedule and caseload efficiently, prioritizing student needs and compliance timelines.
- Participate in staff meetings, PD, and site initiatives to improve student outcomes.
Required
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology (from an accredited program).
- Current California SLP license and California certification (e.g., ASHA CCC-SLP or CFY with appropriate supervision; district requirements may vary).
- School-based eligibility to work (TB clearance, fingerprint/background check).
- Strong clinical writing, organization, and time management skills.
- Pediatrics and/or K–12 school experience (across elementary, middle, and high school settings).
- Experience with both individual and small-group therapy delivery.
- Proficiency with IEP systems and school documentation workflows.
- Familiarity with MTSS/RTI, culturally and linguistically responsive practices, and collaboration in inclusive settings.
- Experience with AAC evaluation and intervention (as applicable to district needs).
- Articulation/phonology disorders
- Language disorders (receptive/expressive), vocabulary development, narrative skills
- Pragmatic/social communication needs (including students on the autism spectrum)
- Fluency (stuttering) and voice/resonance
- Students who use or may benefit from AAC
- English learners requiring nondiscriminatory assessment and appropriate supports
- Hours: 40 hours per week (onsite)
- Compensation: $85/hour (local)
