Key Responsibilities
- Comprehensive Evaluations: Conduct formal and informal assessments to identify speech, language, voice, fluency, and communication disorders.
- Individualized Therapy Plans: Develop and implement treatment plans based on evaluation results, physician’s orders, and each student’s Individualized Education Program (IEP).
- Direct Therapy Services: Provide evidence-based speech and language therapy to students in individual or group settings within the school environment.
- Progress Monitoring: Document therapy sessions, maintain accurate records, and track student progress toward established goals.
- Collaboration: Work closely with teachers, special education staff, school psychologists, and parents to support communication needs across academic and social settings.
- IEP Participation: Attend and contribute to IEP meetings, providing input on speech and language goals and progress.
- Compliance & Best Practices: Ensure all services meet state and federal regulations, district policies, and professional standards.
- Student Advocacy: Promote communication access and inclusion for students with speech and language challenges.
- Active SpeechLanguage Pathologist (SLP) Licensure in the state of assignment required
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-LanguagePathology (CCC-SLP) preferred and may be required by state/contract.
- Complies with all relevant professional standards ofpractice
- Current CPR if applicable
- TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
- Current Health certificate (per contract or stateregulation)
- Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
