About The Role:
The Speech-Language Pathologist in the school setting is responsible for performing student evaluations as well as providing and documenting therapy services in accordance with the plan of care developed foreach individual student and the physician's orders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive speech and language evaluations to determine student eligibility for services.
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to student needs.
- Provide direct therapy services in areas such as articulation, language development, fluency, voice, and social communication.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary teams to support student progress and classroom integration.
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of educational plans.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of assessments, therapy sessions, progress reports, and compliance records.
- Educate staff and families on speech-language development and strategies for support.
- Promote early identification and intervention for students at risk of communication disorders.
- Stay current with best practices and participate in professional development activities.
- Active Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) Licensure in the state of assignment required
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) preferred and may be required by state/contract.
- Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice
- Current CPR if applicable
- TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
- Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
- Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
