Position Overview
We are seeking qualified Educational Sign Language Interpreters (SLIs) to support deaf and hard-of-hearing students in school-based settings. The SLI facilitates effective communication between students, teachers, staff, and peers to ensure equal access to classroom instruction, academic activities, and school programs.

Assignments may include 1:1 student support, small-group instruction, and participation in classroom and school-related activities.
Responsibilities
- Interpret spoken English into American Sign Language (ASL) and ASL into spoken English
- Support student access to classroom instruction, discussions, and school activities
- Adapt interpreting methods to meet individual student and educational needs
- Collaborate with teachers, school staff, and special education teams
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional, ethical, and educational standards
Minimum Qualifications
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Interpreting, Deaf Studies, or a related field (preferred)
- Required state and/or educational interpreter certification based on assignment
- RID certification as applicable per state regulations or client requirements
- Ability to meet all federal, state, and local employment requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
Additional requirements (such as background checks, fingerprinting, health screenings, CPR certification, or driving eligibility) may apply depending on assignment and state regulations.

Compensation
