Position Overview
A Needham preschool is seeking a dedicated School Aide / Paraprofessional to support a substantially separate preschool classroom serving students with significant needs. This role requires a candidate who is confident and prepared to work with this population from day one.
Schedule
- Monday–Thursday: 8:30 AM – 3:15 PM
- Friday: 8:30 AM – 11:45 AM
- Hours per Week: Approximately 30
- Support students in a substantially separate preschool classroom
- Assist the classroom teacher with daily activities and behavior support
- Provide individualized support to students with significant learning and developmental needs
- Help maintain a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment
- Minimum Experience/Certification: Special Education experience required
- Ability to work effectively with students with significant needs
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Comply with all relevant professional standards of practice
- Current CPR if applicable
- TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
- Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
- Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
