Join our dynamic team as a Small Engine Mechanic, where you'll be the driving force behind maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting a wide variety of small engines and equipment.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair small engines, including lawnmowers, generators, snow blowers, and other power equipment using schematics and technical manuals
- Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, blade sharpening, and part replacements to ensure optimal equipment performance
- Troubleshoot electrical systems, including wiring, switches, sensors, and electrical diagnostics to identify faults accurately
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and mechanical knowledge to complete repairs efficiently
- Conduct heavy lifting and manual handling of equipment safely while adhering to safety protocols
- Test repaired equipment to verify proper operation before returning it to customers or preparing it for sale or rental
- Maintain detailed records of repairs performed, parts used, and diagnostic findings for quality control and warranty purposes
Experience
- Proven dealership experience or service technician background specializing in small engine repair or outdoor power equipment repair
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in engine repair, electrical diagnostics, and equipment troubleshooting
- Familiarity with schematics, wiring diagrams, and mechanical systems repair procedures
- Experience working with diesel engines and power generation systems is desirable
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding techniques, and electrical work
- Customer service experience with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling tasks regularly in a fast-paced environment
