What are the responsibilities and job description for the Middle and High School Math Teacher position at Amelia Academy?
Responsibilities
- Teach math courses for grades 6–12 (Pre-Algebra through Algebra II; higher-level courses a plus)
- Develop and deliver clear, structured lesson plans aligned with curriculum goals
- Maintain timely and accurate grading and communication with students and families
- Use a variety of instructional strategies to meet diverse learning needs
- Foster a positive, disciplined, and respectful classroom culture
- Collaborate with faculty and participate in school activities
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Education, or related field (required)
- Teaching experience at the middle and/or high school level preferred
- Strong content knowledge and classroom management skills
- Excellent organization, communication, and follow-through
- A proactive, team-oriented mindset
Preferred Attributes
- Ability to teach upper-level math (Pre-Calculus, Statistics, or beyond)
- Coaching or extracurricular involvement is a plus
- Comfort integrating technology into instruction
