The Human Resources Generalist provides efficient, compliant, and service‑focused HR support with a strong emphasis on HRIS data management, reporting, and process accuracy. This role leverages advanced working knowledge of HR systems to support HR operations, maintain data integrity, and ensure consistent application of HR processes and policies. The position partners with HR leadership, employees, and managers to support day‑to‑day HR activities, compliance requirements, and system‑enabled workflows.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
- Maintain and manage personnel files and HR records in compliance with applicable record‑keeping and retention requirements.
- Process and maintain employee and position data in HR systems, including compensation, job changes, locations, access, and other employment updates, ensuring data accuracy and timeliness.
- Prepare and maintain HR logs, forms, routine reports, correspondence, and documentation.
- Respond to employee, applicant, and stakeholder inquiries by providing accurate information related to HR programs, processes, and services.
- Support HR operational workflows such as onboarding, offboarding, employee data changes, performance management documentation, and compliance reporting.
- Coordinate and schedule HR‑related activities, including onboarding sessions, orientations, interviews, training sessions, and employee events.
- Identify routine HR issues and escalate questions or concerns as appropriate in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Organize, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks and projects while meeting established deadlines.
- Maintain compliance with applicable policies, procedures, and organizational standards.
- Adhere to and support Health, Safety, Environmental, and Sustainability policies.
- Meet attendance, punctuality, and performance expectations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Employee Relations and Performance Management Support
- Develop a working understanding of the company’s organizational structure, culture, and business objectives.
- Provide employees and managers with guidance on performance management processes, documentation requirements, and timelines.
- Support the administrative and documentation aspects of employee relations matters, including information gathering and record review, in coordination with HR leadership.
- Assist HR leadership with preparation of documentation and summaries related to employee relations matters as needed.
- Help promote a positive employee experience by responding to employee inquiries and directing matters to appropriate HR resources.
Manager Support & HR Process Guidance
- Provide managers with guidance on established HR processes, including hiring steps, onboarding requirements, performance evaluations, corrective action documentation, and policy application.
- Assist with the coordination and administration of HR training sessions and compliance‑related communications.
- Serve as a point of contact for managers seeking support with routine HR questions and transactional processes.
HRIS & Reporting
- Serve as a primary HRIS power user responsible for maintaining accurate employee and position data in accordance with established procedures and timelines.
- Process employee status, job, compensation, and organizational changes with strong attention to detail and data integrity.
- Generate standard, recurring, and custom HR reports to support compliance requirements, audits, and operational decision‑making.
- Conduct routine data audits, identify discrepancies or process gaps, and recommend improvements to enhance data accuracy and consistency.
- Review HR data to identify trends or inconsistencies and escalate findings as appropriate.
- Partner with HR leadership and external HRIS support resources to troubleshoot system issues and support system enhancements.
Policy, Compliance & Administrative Support
- Assist with the implementation and communication of HR policies, procedures, and standard operating practices.
- Support compliance activities related to employment laws and regulations by maintaining documentation and records as required.
- Assist with audits, EEO reporting, FMLA tracking, and other regulatory or internal compliance initiatives.
- Prepare routine compliance documentation and reports for internal use.
Benefits, Compensation & Recruiting Support
- Provide employees with general information related to benefits programs and direct them to appropriate resources or vendors as needed.
- Assist with preparation of compensation summaries, reports, and supporting documentation.
- Support annual HR cycles such as performance reviews, salary planning, and benefits enrollment.
- Maintain accurate applicant and requisition data in the applicant tracking system (ATS).
- Assist with resume review, screening, interview scheduling, and candidate communications.
- Help ensure a positive candidate experience through timely updates and professional communication.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related field, and three (3) years of relevant HR experience; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience totaling seven (7) years.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to partner effectively with employees, managers, and stakeholders.
- Working knowledge of U.S. federal and multi‑state employment laws and regulations, including EEO, FMLA, wage and hour, and leave‑related requirements.
- Advanced working knowledge of HRIS platforms (preferably ADP Workforce Now), including employee data management, reporting, auditing, and troubleshooting; strong Excel/spreadsheet skills required.
- Proven ability to provide practical HR guidance to managers on established processes and policies.
- Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to develop solutions to routine and recurring HR issues within established guidelines.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
- Ability to manage change, adapt priorities, and work effectively in a fast‑paced environment.
Salary : $65,000 - $70,000
