Responsibilities Summary: The following details the expectations of a molding technician. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Complete mold PMs as scheduled or required Help perform mold changeovers Spray the parts that are blocked off with silicone Look at drop areas and shielding to assure that parts are getting into stacking equipment Report any oil leaks to maintenance Assist operators with any problems that arise (i.e. stacker jams, belts off) Assist mold technicians in different areas Perform adjustments to molding machines to optimize the cycle and to make good quality parts Work with the quality control department on any quality problems Assist maintenance and stacker maintenance when possible Fill out mold books and down time sheets Assist with color changes and material changes Report any safety problems or concerns to your supervisor Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no supervisory responsibilities Qualifications Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED), any related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience is a plus. Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to speak and communicate effectively with other employees of the organization. Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, and decimals. Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several variables. While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to extreme heat and risk of electrical shock. During the summer months, even with climate controls, the work area can be very hot. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Fumes from certain compounds may be offensive to some individuals. The molding technician position is very fast paced at times. In addition, this position may be strenuous, both physically and emotionally.
