Job Description

The starting rate of pay for this position is expected to be $30.00; however, starting pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills and experience between $28.00 and $38.00.

SHIFT/HOURS: Sunday-Thursday 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Summary

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Technician repairs and maintains a variety of industrial production and building equipment with related work involved in the maintenance of the facility building.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Supports and complies with safety and environmental guidelines (Amcor, State and Federal)
  • Conducts regularly scheduled maintenance on equipment and machinery
  • Troubleshoots issues that affect mechanical performance and/or other quality issues
  • Diagnoses problems to maintain good mechanical running condition and repairs/replaces defective parts
  • Fabricates, as needed

Education And Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 3 years hands on industrial maintenance mechanical experience

Qualifications

  • Strong mechanical knowledge
  • Strong ability to problem solve
  • Strong English (verbal and written) communication skills
  • Basic mathematical skills
  • Basic industrial/manufacturing wiring experience

Physical Requirements

  • Able to work at heights (up to 4 stories high).
  • Excellent vision, eye-hand coordination, and hearing.
  • Strong manual dexterity involving total wrist action, twisting, pulling, and raising arms at or above shoulder height.
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.
  • Ability to stand, sit, kneel, bend, stoop, climb, reach, and crawl for extended periods multiple times per day.
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) which includes safety glasses, safety goggles, hearing protection, steel toe shoes/boots, face shield, gloves, bump cap, and face mask.
  • Ability to work in warm, humid, and cool climates for 8 or more hours per day or night.
