Key Responsibilities:
- Provide safe and compassionate phlebotomy services to adult patients in a multi-specialty setting in collaboration with health care providers and support teams.
- Monitor phlebotomy testing schedules and prepare for daily volume, including confirmation of all test orders.
- Accurately verify and enter patient and test information and ensure proper labeling of specimens.
- Perform venipuncture blood collection safely and accurately.
- Collect and prepare specimens for laboratory testing, including processing and transport following all standard practice procedures.
- Manage availability and proper functioning of phlebotomy supplies, as well as routine quality controls and instrument maintenance per policy.
- Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures, complying with legal regulations.
Required Experience/Skills:
- 2 years of relevant work experience
- Proficient phlebotomy skills, aseptic technique, standard precautions, and HIPAA practices
- Must be efficient, organized, proficient in maintaining high volume patient flow, and demonstrate excellent customer service skills
Preferred Experience/Skills:
- EPIC experience
- Experience in an outpatient or ambulatory care setting
- Familiarity with lab order entry and specimen handling protocols
- Working knowledge of insurance requirements
Education/Certification:
- Graduate of an approved Phlebotomy course with Certificate of Completion (Required)
- BLS Certification (Required)
- AHA, BLS Certification (Required)
- Phlebotomy Certification (Preferred)
Work Location: On-site, travel to other practice locations as needed
Salary Range: $20.00 $23.00 per hour
