Summary/Objective

The Material Handler is responsible to ensure this position requires interaction with the Material Grinder, Warehouse Supervisor, Shift Foremen and Materials Supervisor to allow for correct resin staging and usage. This would include pulling the correct quantity of resin needed per work order, using FIFO principles, mixing/blending per work order, return the correct resin lot number to the warehouse, and minimizing returns of resin. Close interaction with warehouse personnel/scheduling to ensure resin is dried in a timely fashion to avoid downtime.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Is responsible to properly maintain dry and stage the resin, clean and ensure the equipment is in good working order. Work with the other Material Handlers within the department, ensuring that they contribute to the company objectives.
  • Review master schedule in order to plan, and schedule resin management and staging activities to minimize downtime and perform support effective startups within the given timelines.
  • Support the implementation, achievement, and maintenance of the Quality and Environmental Policies and Procedures.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with the Process Technicians, material handlers, priorities to support production schedule.
  • Awareness of equipment usage and conditions, repair and maintenance to meet production schedule. Ensure work orders for maintenance or tooling issues are performed.
  • Performs daily preventive mold cleaning for all production presses per procedure and schedule.
  • Can aid process Techs with established purge procedure and that purging carts are maintained and line clearance is performed per work instructions.
  • Follows and sustain 5s practices, work instructions, accurate floor dispositions and all other company procedures.
  • Records any changes to log when needed or found, follows escalation procedure.
- Communicate shift to shift information on current resin status and pending mold changes/ startups.

The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Required Education and Experience

  1. High School or equivalent.
  2. Minimum 1 year experience in a Technical position in manufacturing with proven ability to deliver desired results.
  3. Strong technical and organizational skills.
  4. Ability to communicate and present effectively in both written and oral form required.

Preferred Education and Experience

  1. High School Diploma
  2. 1 years of experience in Plastics Processing, Injection Molding or High Speed Production/Assembly operation and/or medical device manufacturing experience.
  3. Knowledge of ISO standards.
