Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and organized Veterinary Receptionist/Assistant to join our veterinary team. This role involves providing exceptional customer service at the front desk, managing patient records, and assisting with animal care duties.
Responsibilities
- Greet clients and patients professionally, ensuring a welcoming environment for pet owners and their animals
- Manage appointment scheduling, patient check-in/check-out, and client communication
- Handle front desk duties including answering phones, processing payments, and maintaining accurate records
- Assist with animal restraint during examinations and procedures to ensure safety for both animals and staff
- Support veterinary technicians and veterinarians with medication administration, sample collection, and laboratory procedures
- Maintain aseptic techniques during clinical procedures to prevent infection or contamination
- Support laboratory work including sample processing and data entry as needed
- Handle animals safely during procedures such as catheterization or other specialized care requiring knowledge of veterinary terminology and techniques
- Ensure the cleanliness of the clinic environment in accordance with health standards
Experience
- Prior kennel experience or animal husbandry background preferred
- Veterinary technician or assistant experience highly desirable
- Experience working in a veterinary clinic setting is advantageous
- Familiarity with veterinary critical care practices is a plus
- Skills in animal restraint, medication administration, and pet handling are essential
- Knowledge of veterinary terminology, laboratory procedures, and aseptic techniques is beneficial
- Strong communication skills for front desk responsibilities and client interactions
- Ability to handle animals safely across various species including dogs and cats

Hours: 8a-2pm 3 days a week for training and 12 week trial period- hours subject to change.
Pay: From $17.00 per hour
