Responsibilities
- Design and execute innovative lesson plans that incorporate curriculum development principles, including literacy education, early intervention strategies, and Montessori methods when applicable.
- Lead classroom activities that promote child development instruction, social skills, and physical coordination tailored specifically for toddlers.
- Manage daily classroom routines with a focus on toddler care, behavior management, and classroom management techniques to create a positive learning environment.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding their child's progress, milestones, and any behavioral or developmental concerns.
- Ensure compliance with mandated reporting laws related to child welfare and safety protocols; maintain accurate documentation of student progress and incidents.
- Supervise and mentor assistant teachers or aides, fostering teamwork and professional growth within the classroom setting.
- Implement health and safety procedures including first aid and CPR certifications to ensure the well-being of all children in your care.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working with young children in a preschool or daycare setting, with a strong understanding of childhood development principles.
- Demonstrated expertise in curriculum development, lesson planning, and classroom management tailored for toddlers.
- Knowledge of special education needs, early intervention techniques, and behavior management strategies.
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with children, parents, staff, and community partners effectively.
- Valid certification in first aid and CPR; familiarity with mandated reporting laws is required.
- Prior experience teaching physical education or implementing literacy education programs is preferred.
- Background in early childhood education methodologies such as Montessori or standardized testing practices is advantageous.
