Job Title: Cath Lab Registered Nurse (RN)Location: Honolulu, HawaiiDepartment: Cardiac Catheterization LabFacility Size: 150–500 beds | Trauma Level IIIJob Type: 13-week contractSchedule: 8-hour day shifts with frequent on-call and consecutive weekends as neededPosition overviewThe Cath Lab Registered Nurse provides specialized nursing care for patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures in a busy hospital-based lab. This role is ideal for experienced Cath Lab nurses who are comfortable with high-acuity cardiac patients, frequent on-call coverage, and rapid response to emergent situations.​Key responsibilitiesAssist cardiologists and interventionalists with diagnostic cardiac catheterizations and interventional procedures such as angiography, angioplasty, and stent placement.​Monitor and manage patients pre-, intra-, and post-procedure, including hemodynamic monitoring, rhythm interpretation, and vascular access site assessment.​Administer medications and manage moderate sedation per protocol, ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout procedures.​Respond to emergencies (e.g., arrhythmias, hemodynamic instability, code situations) and provide rapid clinical support as part of the Cath Lab team.​Participate in frequent on-call coverage, including nights, weekends, and holidays, with the ability to arrive promptly when called in.​Collaborate with physicians, technologists, anesthesia, and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate safe and efficient patient care.​Document assessments, medications, procedural details, and outcomes accurately in the Cerner EMR.​Required qualificationsActive Hawaii RN license obtained prior to start date.​Minimum 5 years of recent Cath Lab RN experience in an acute care hospital.​Demonstrated willingness and ability to take frequent on-call assignments and work consecutive weekends as needed.​Current BLS and ACLS certifications.​Strong critical thinking skills and advanced cardiovascular nursing knowledge, including hemodynamics and rhythm interpretation.​Core competenciesCardiac catheterization and interventional support, including pre-, intra-, and post-procedure patient management.​Continuous patient monitoring, safety, and rapid recognition of changes in condition.​Rapid response and emergency management in a high-acuity procedural environment.​Team collaboration and communication in a multidisciplinary Cath Lab setting.​High attention to detail and documentation accuracy in Cerner EMR.​Adaptability and schedule flexibility to support frequent on-call and weekend coverage.​Additional assignment detailsHoliday pay applies only when the scheduled shift begins on the calendar holiday, per facility policy.​Facility is not affiliated with Hawaii Health Systems Corporation (HHSC).
